SigmaKalon's SHEQ charter embraces the voluntary commitments of the coatings industry trade associations, such as Coatings Care®. It firmly subscribes to the concepts of continuous improvement and sustainable development.

SigmaKalon considers Safety in its operations, Health, respect for the Environment and complete customer satisfaction by supplying products and services of the desired Quality as core priorities,.

SigmaKalon:
1. Places Safety, Quality & the protection of Health and the Environment at the centre of its company objectives.

2. Manages its activities in order to meet, as a minimum, the requirements of all applicable laws and regulations in the countries where it operates and applies standards that reflect the company's commitment to Safety, Health, and the Environment.

3. Ensures that product development and introduction will only be undertaken with the prior assessment of risks to Safety, Health and the Environment and provides customers with the necessary information and assistance for the proper use of its products.

4. Identifies training needs to develop the talents and skills of its employees to contribute to the effective implementation of this charter. Employee commitment and behaviour with respect to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality matters will be an important criterion in the appraisal of an individual's performance, with a particular emphasis for those in positions of responsibility.

5. Ensures, through its process of contractor and supplier selection and evaluation, that their performance adheres to the principles of this charter.

6. Establishes, monitors, improves and reviews on a regular basis a system of risk management designed to manage and limit the consequences of potential industrial accidents and incidents.

7. In matters of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, commits to openness and endorses an approach of constructive dialogue with each of its stakeholders.

8. Monitors its impact on the Environment and takes appropriate measures to control it.

9. Adopts and fully supports a programme of planning, implementation, checking and review of its operations and services at all levels by implementing appropriate management systems which are both recognised internationally and externally auditable.

10. Actively engages in various research programs designed to advance the knowledge of products and processes in the fields of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality and to understand, analyse, implement and improve SHEQ-related, actual or draft legislation.
